Makeup-Catchup Pt. 1: Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush

Sorry! Very sorry to have not done anything in so long (as though there is anyone who cares). So uh...yeah, one with the review!

Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush is a...mousse blush, duh. It is a part of their Dream Mousse line, which contains the blush, a foundation and powder, and (only in the UK and maybe some other countries- but not the US) eyeshadows. The blush is the product I'm reviewing today, and it comes in six colors, ranging from "peach satin" to "coffee cake". It's generally about $6 at Target, Walmart, etc. But for some reason it's like $8 at Walgreens, so beware. Me and Maybelline products have a weird relationship- either I love their products or I absolutely hate them! Read on to find out about this one ;)
The Good:
  • Consistency: It really is a "mousse"; it's light and fluffy, and actually doesn't look or feel nearly as heavy as their advertising (like the picture above) makes it seem! The creme is also not too liquidy but still applicable with fingers and food for those of you who have combination or dry skin.
  • Color: I picked the lightest possible color (peach satin) because I'm already pale and have a little color to my cheeks, I just wanted to enhance it. When it goes on its light with the barest shimmer, but easily blendable and buildable.
The Bad:
  • The Stay Factor: It may have to do with the foundation I had underneath, but I've found it doesn't stay well. That's not to say it all wears off quickly, but the next time I look at myself in the mirror, I can barely tell I put anything on. Though I do plan on getting another, more noticeable color.
  • The Smell: Thankfully, it's not too noticeable, otherwise it would be on the "Ugly" list, but when you do smell it- oh lord its horrible! So...don't smell it.
The Ugly:
  • None (barely)
Verdict:
Definite yes for me. I did a lot of extensive research on blush brands and types before selecting this one, and though I would never have bought it without the great testimonial, I love it. It's also a great buy- there's a lot and you wont go through it too fast- at a decent price.

Future Posts:

To get back in the swing of things, here is a list of products I plan to review:
Loreal's New Face Wash + Scrublet (<--- Actual term! I swear!)
Maybelline's New Gel Eyeliner (<3)
Chinaglaze Nail Polish in a Darj Grey Sparkly thing
Jessica McClintock Dresses (I've been there too many times and have too many dresses not to.)
+ Other stuff I'm sure I've forgotten!

Review: Lady Gaga's new MV: Telephone

How on earth do I review this....
It's awkward.
But it's not, because it's Lady Gaga.

Unfortunately, that doesn't excuse everything: there are genuinely bad part, that not only don't fit, but don't add anything regardless of the fact that the story makes no sense.

Ah. The story. Here were my questions about the story:
Is it a whore prison?
Someone's kinky harem?
Is Beyonce Gaga's pimp?
Are they lesbian lovers?

Without the minute-long segments with absolutely nothing going on, aka the story, it's actually not bad.
There's a lot of random costumes and awkward dancing, but it is interesting to watch, and very Lady Gaga.

But throw Beyonce in there and things get weird. I appreciate and respect Beyonce; she is a fantastic artist in many aspects, but this is so obviously not her thing.
There are some stop-motion sequences with her that are fun to watch, but the rest of the time, when they're talking, when she's dancing, it's just weird, and Beyonce looks ridiculously out of her element.

Lastly: It has nothing to do with calling something. Nothing.

Over Reaction?
Uh... (too lazy to make a wordle, sorry).

Movie Review: Cop Out

SERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR5RRXYUU7YNKL.,,M6When I review this, keep in mind7bhgcfdddddddddrE 4T54DE;90; |]

Yeahhhh... my puppy did that...
Moving on!

Review for Cop Out:
Watch-ability:
  • This movie was a yes and no for me. It's definitely a movie that you need to RENT and watch with about ten friends, preferably buzzed. There's humor, don't get me wrong, but there's always a vague sense of "Okayyy- when am I going to laugh?" It's also generally pretty crude humor.

Characters:
  •  The Good: ...
  • The Bad: There's no one who actually seems like they truly fit their role except the Crazy kid (you'll realize who it is if you see it), and the Prostitute, who I loved for some reason. It also drags- I spent a good amount of time going, "When is it going to end?"
  • The Ugly: The villans. Oh, where these guys bad. They were right on the edge of being those kinds of characters who are deliberately and stupidly stereotypical and bad- but that's the problem! They were on the edge, so instead of being funny, they were just generally awkward.
Sorry, Cop Out. But I say no. Go ahead and rent it, in fact, do rent it, but don't see it in theaters. It's not a good theater movie because of its awkward humor and since it's just no that good. But a few shot of Tequila, and who knows?

Healthy Snack Review!

This isn't so much a review as an informative post. But whatever!
Looking for a healthy snack?

Yes! This is indeed a tortilla chip. Most people choose fried chips like Lays and Cheetos over these, but they're healthier and just are fun to eat. But! We will go a step beyond that!

Buy a bag of tortillas- flour it good but corn are more flavorful and less fattening. (Don't base your decision on how you like them raw- that will change.)

Cut tortillas into slices or chips and bake at 350 degrees for ten minutes. Add a little salt for extra flavor and eat!

They're a lot healthier than any chip you can get in a store, and they're great warm. I wouldn't make a lot in advance, because they don't have the same preservatives are store-bought chips and would probably turn soggy. But they're fast and great! Try it out- you'll never have to look for a "healthy" chip in a store again!

The Face Shop: Nail Polish Remover

The Faceshop is a mainly Asian company that originated in Korea, but they've apparently got a US branch now! So I'm going to review a product I bought five years ago! I bought this product when I was...twelve? In Taiwan on my cousin's recommendation :)

The Good:
  • Smell: Most nail polish removers smell awful. This one not only doesn't, but it smells good! Very clearly like strawberries. :)
  • Effectiveness: I've had this bottle for five years, used it nearly every time I've needed a remover, and still have a bit more than half a bottle.
The Bad:
  • Effectiveness: It's not very immediately effective, like I don't think you could stick a finger in it and have anything immediately happen, but like I said before, a little packs a lot.
The Ugly:
  • None :)
Verdict:
I say why not, if you can find it. It's a great alternative to other polish remover, but regular ones aren't that horrible to me that I'd fly back to Taiwan to get more. But! If you ever come across it, it's a good buy :)

Boots Expect Sensitive Hydrating Moisturiser

My first impression: Uh, they spelled "moisturizer" wrong....
Anyway, review for Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Moisturiser! It is a moisturizer put out by the company Boots in the Expert line (another line is the No. 7).

Boots is one of those lesser known drugstore brands. Its sold mainly at Target and...Rite Aid? The lines are all pretty much standard drugstore prices- this product retails at about $5, so it isnt too much of a splurge or anything. Here we go!

Pros:
  • It Works: As far as hydration goes, it does it pretty well, in a short amount of time (one night). It moisturizes deep and it good for those little flaky spots.
  • Not Greasy: A lot of lotions have thay greasy feeling that's left behind on your skin- this one doesn't have it at all.
  • Thick: I don't know why that's a pro, but it strikes me as something good :)
  • Cheap
Cons:
  • Smells: Like glue.
  • Feels: Like glue. Despite the previous pros, this lotion just has such a strong glue feeling to it. It is literally like rubbing Elmer's Glue on your face except without the stick and the strings. I also doesn't form a fun little mask you can pull off later :(

Overall:
Don't go for it. Despite the pros outweighing the cons. The whole "glue" thing is so prominent that it's a complete deal breaker, which is sad because it actually works well. But fear not! I will be reviewing another moisturizer of theirs from a different line. Until then!

LASplash Primer/Base/Sealer Review

My first product review!

This is a review of a "drug store" product!
LASplash "Eyeshadow Sealer/Base", a.k.a. a primer. I was first attracted to this because I've been looking for a primer, smashbox in particular, but wasn't keen on the price. This product, if I'm correct (bought it a could weeks ago and don't remember, sorry ><) is between 5 to 10 dollars, more towards ten. The stand was pretty and I thought, why not? I got this particular one in ULTA, but they also apparently it's also carried at Target. So lets get down to business:

Pros:
  • Goes on clear: it comes in a variety of cream/white colors, but it generally goes on colorless.
  • Holds well: I've layered different kinds of shadow and it works with pretty much all of them.
  • Blends well
  • Doesn't settle: You don't get any wrinkle lines.
  • Sensitive: I have ridiculously bizarre skin that gets weird and red when it feels like it, and is generally sensitive, especially my eyelids. This hasn't aggravated my skin at all.
  • Cheap
Cons:
  • Sticky: It's actually quite annoying when you're putting it on, but it goes away quickly and doesn't cause any problems with eyeshadow.
  • Applicator: It's one of those brush sponge things that you get in lip-glosses, and it's a little annoying to use, I'd much rather it be a pump.
  • Cheap/Unknown: There's always the con of it being a lesser known product, and possibly less reliable, but I haven't had any problems with it.
Overall: I say go for it. It's a cheap and useful product that gets the job done with only slight cons. :)

Begin the Blog!

I really don't know why this is here, but I've felt like putting my thoughts down-
more specifically, reviews.
Like every other girl out there, I'm going to start reviewing things. But not just makeup and the norm, pretty much everything and anything I buy, read, or try. Which means good stories on the internet that I hope I can turn people onto! (I'm not going to trace everything I've read, but check the favorites list on My Fictionpress Page or This C2 (awesome and active) for some good stories).
Anyway- the point of this blog is reviewing things that really anyone might be interested in- a good mix of things that any girl would be interested in!
Happy Hunting! (me, considering I'm the only one reading this :)
