This is a review of a "drug store" product! LASplash "Eyeshadow Sealer/Base", a.k.a. a primer. I was first attracted to this because I've been looking for a primer, smashbox in particular, but wasn't keen on the price. This product, if I'm correct (bought it a could weeks ago and don't remember, sorry ><) is between 5 to 10 dollars, more towards ten. The stand was pretty and I thought, why not? I got this particular one in ULTA, but they also apparently it's also carried at Target. So lets get down to business:
Pros:
- Goes on clear: it comes in a variety of cream/white colors, but it generally goes on colorless.
- Holds well: I've layered different kinds of shadow and it works with pretty much all of them.
- Blends well
- Doesn't settle: You don't get any wrinkle lines.
- Sensitive: I have ridiculously bizarre skin that gets weird and red when it feels like it, and is generally sensitive, especially my eyelids. This hasn't aggravated my skin at all.
- Cheap
- Sticky: It's actually quite annoying when you're putting it on, but it goes away quickly and doesn't cause any problems with eyeshadow.
- Applicator: It's one of those brush sponge things that you get in lip-glosses, and it's a little annoying to use, I'd much rather it be a pump.
- Cheap/Unknown: There's always the con of it being a lesser known product, and possibly less reliable, but I haven't had any problems with it.
I say go for it. It's a cheap and useful product that gets the job done with only slight cons. :)
